MockingJay Summary
MockingJay Reasons
Character Analysis (Pt. 3)
Prim-Not a main character in the book and was picked to be in The Hunger Games but Katniss volunteered as tribute. Prim is the sister of Katniss and does not play a major role in the novel.
Effie Trinket-She is not a main character but plays an important role in katnisses life. She is kind of a mentor for Katniss and Peeta and also kind of plans things out for The Hunger Games. She also does not like Haymitch because of his drinking and favors Katniss over Peeta.
Character Analysis (Pt. 2)
Gale-My favorite character in the book and is kind-of a main character but not really. He is really good friends with Katniss and has never participated in The Hunger Games. He also has started to become more of a leader and is leading the group more.
President Snow-He is not a main character and is the President or leader of all twelve districts. He also plays a very small role and doesn't show up to much but he is still a very important part of the book. President Snow is extremely rich and is the maker of The Hunger Games.

Text-to-Text Connection
My book MockingJay by Suzanne Collins is about a futuristic dystopian society. The book that i thing its related to is The Giver by Lois Lowry which is also a futuristic dystopian society. I think both of these books are dystopian societies because they both have technology we dont have today. Like in the Giver they have a brain washing machine so they can make everyone act and think the same. Also in MockingJay they have The Hunger Games which is a dome surrounded by a force field.
Another thing that makes them alike is that they both have kind of a mentor in each book. Like in MockingJay the mentor was Haymitch and he mentored Katniss and Peeta. In the giver the mentor is The Giver and he mentored Jonas. I think both of these books were great books and I think this because there both closely related.

Final Blogging Assessment in English 1B
The book I am reading is, Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins the third book in the epic series The Hunger Games. The best line in Chapter 15 of Mockingjay is when Katniss says, "But then...I'm also a girl from District 12. Not President Snow"(Collins 262).

Haymitch- Former winner of the Hunger Games and lives in one of the Victor houses. Also he is now a mentor for Peeta and Katniss. He is lonely and very lazy and likes to drink alot.

Krista Ramsey Part 2
-3rd Column
-This article is about how Barack Obama talked about preschool and The Speaker of the House liked what he said and applauded it.
-"And we should absolutely cheer that the Preschool Promise - a plan to subsidize quality preschool for all 3- and 4-year-olds - is being pushed forward in Cincinnati."The impact this has on the reader is they get information on how preschool will work in Cincinnati. Some diction used in this piece of text is Elevated like the word "subsidize." Which is elevated because most people would not say that word in their writing. some syntax in this piece of text is this whole sentence because its pretty long and makes the reader speed up their reading.
-Ramseys writing style is plain i think this because its not really anything else so i went with plain, "Yes, we should all rejoice that President Barack Obama mentioned preschool in his State of the Union speech last month and that Speaker of the House John Boehner applauded, evidence of bipartisan support."
-Some questions
-Why do yous choose to write in this type of style?
-In your opinion what is the most interesting column youve done?
-Who was your inspiration for writing?

MockingJay Predictions
I predict she will have an emotional break down and become really depressed or sad. She will probably assume that her family and her friends are dead.
Also I want to say why I chose this book and I chose this book because I liked all the other books so much and they were the only books that I really enjoyed.
MockingJay Beginning
The setting of this book is in the future in a perfect society. They split their society into thirteen districts but district thirteen got nuked. they go in order with one being the richest and twelve being the poorest. Each district having special qualities and things there known for.
